Data Deletion Request
Food Scan Go does not require user accounts to use the app.
This page describes how users of Food Scan Go can request deletion of their app-related data.
How to Request Data Deletion
Users can request deletion of their app-related data by:
- Open the app.
- Go to Help → Privacy & Data.
- Select Request Data Deletion.
This will open your email app with a pre-filled deletion request containing your App ID.
Alternatively, you can submit the request manually by sending an email to:
- Email: support@foodscango.com
- Subject: Data Deletion Request
Please include the following in your message:
App ID: <your app ID>
Your App ID can be found within the app under the Settings screen.
What Data Is Deleted
When a deletion request is processed, we submit a deletion request for app-related analytics data associated with the provided App ID using Google Firebase Analytics deletion tools.
Deletion requests are typically processed within several weeks according to Google Firebase processing schedules.
Crash Diagnostics Data
Food Scan Go uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect technical crash diagnostics and app stability information.
We do not use Firebase Crashlytics user identifiers, which means crash diagnostic data is not directly linked to identifiable user accounts within the app.
Because of this, individual Crashlytics records cannot be selectively located or deleted per user request.
Crash diagnostics data may include:
- device model
- operating system version
- app version
- crash stack traces
- technical diagnostic information
We do not intentionally include personally identifiable information in crash reports.
Crash diagnostics data is automatically managed and eventually removed according to Google Firebase retention policies.
Email Requests
Deletion request emails may be temporarily retained for request processing and security purposes before being deleted.
Important
We require the App ID to locate and delete associated analytics data. Because the analytics data is associated with a device-generated identifier, we cannot identify or retrieve your records using information such as your name or email address alone.
If you have already uninstalled the app or reset the app data before obtaining the App ID, the previous App ID may no longer be accessible. In that case, we may be unable to locate and delete analytics data associated with the previous installation.
Deletion requests are typically processed within a few business days, after which actual data deletion timing depends on Google Firebase systems.
